“I came to this orchestra not by accident. I was living in New York City when I happened to hear them perform in Carnegie Hall with Mariss Jansons. I was given complimentary tickets, an important part to this story, and I decided to check it out. I had been playing in a string quartet, the Lark Quartet, for 8 years at this point, and I had already planned to make the huge career choice to audition for an orchestra position, largely due to the constant travel of a quartet career, and had recently won a position in the Toronto Symphony. However, after hearing this great orchestra and meeting a number of its members backstage after the concert, I decided I had to audition for the PSO. I won the job and my career changed from that day. I will always remember the excitement I felt when I heard this great orchestra for the first time!”
